Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Whisk or spoon for stirring
  • 1 Mug or cup
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (e.g., almond, coconut, oat)
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch of black pepper (enhances the absorption of curcumin in turmeric)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey (optional for sweetness)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional for flavor)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional for creaminess)

Instructions

  • Heat the Milk
In a small saucepan, pour the plant-based milk and place it over medium heat.
  • Add the Spices
Once the milk begins to warm up, add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper to the saucepan.
  • Whisk Thoroughly
Whisk the ingredients well to ensure the spices are fully incorporated. Make sure no lumps of turmeric remain.
  • Sweeten (Optional)
If you’d like a touch of sweetness, add maple syrup or honey to taste. Add vanilla extract for extra flavor, and coconut oil for a rich, creamy texture.
  • Simmer Gently
Allow the latte to simmer for 2-3 minutes, but don’t let it boil. This helps the flavors meld together.
  • Strain (Optional)
If you want a smooth consistency, strain the latte through a fine mesh strainer into your mug.
  • Serve Hot
Pour into a cup and serve immediately. Enjoy your warm and nourishing turmeric latte!
