Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Skillet or griddle
  • 1 Cooking brush

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add Wet Ingredients:
Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yogurt, warm water, and olive oil.
Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour; if too dry, add a little more water.
  • Knead Dough:
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Rest Dough:
Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Divide and Roll:
After resting, divide the dough into 6-8 equal pieces. On a floured surface, roll each piece into a thin circle about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cook Flatbreads:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
Place one flatbread in the hot skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown spots appear and the flatbread puffs slightly.
    Repeat with remaining flatbreads.
  • Serve:
Serve warm. Optional: Brush with a little olive oil or garlic butter for extra flavor.
